Yes. Because the dirt is moving away from the building. That is erosion. I live in California. Have lots of it. Asked my husband the question. He is an electronic engineer.

No. If you are talking about buildings moving during a landslide or slump, it is technically mass wasting. If the buildings are built on flat ground and they move is is because of settling. The first , mass wasting, does relate to erosion, but is not it is self erosion.
